We are delighted to announce Down Syndrome Oxfordshire is now live. It’s time to celebrate the launch of our new name together!
After 22 years as a Registered Charity, moving to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) provides more robust foundations and will support new opportunities for the future as we continue to grow and support our expanding community – for life.
New era DSO enables us to:
- reflect the reach of DSO across Oxfordshire
- better protect those working on behalf of DSO eg Trustees, Officers, volunteers
- more actively involve our members with Down syndrome in the running of our organisation
- seek grant funding from a wider range of sources.
We also want to take a moment to thank every single member of our volunteer team, who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes over the last 18 months to bring this new chapter to life.
Without you all, we couldn’t have achieved this. Your dedication is what lies at the heart of DSO – an organisation run by our members, for our members.
